A few years ago I introduced systems into my business. They help train new team members, they ensure that no step is forgotten, they help with decision making and they ensure quality and consistency through every process.
I find them incredibly useful and one of the most valuable resources I have.
If something is working so well in one area of my life I tend to want to duplicate it and spread the love, in a manner of speaking.
So I’ve become a system maker – kind of like a recipe writer but for lots of different processes within my business, my personal life, my family life, in my role as a board member and to support my clients to achieve their goals.
We start with the ingredients. What’s needed to achieve the end result? Then, what are the steps, one by one, where do we start and how do we get to the end? What are some possible speedhumps and what do we have to do or have to navigate them?
We also set optimal timeframes so we know what we’re in for.
Then comes the testing. If someone else has all the ingredients and follows the instructions step by step do they achieve the exact same result? If not, what’s missing?
A photo also helps – to see how it should look once completed or to motivate us to keep on track and working towards our goal.
When it comes to buying a home or investment property, systems are incredibly useful to make a big project achieveable, a big goal a reality.
Do you have a system or process to help you get to where you’re heading?
