Do you change your decor depending on the season?

I like to change things up as the weather starts to cool down or heat up. Winter brings out more soft furnishings – blankets, cushions and cosier stuff that feels warm and invites snuggling. In summer we go minimalist and bright to reflect the vibe of all things fun, active and outdoors.

If you’ve got a good base palette with neutral main pieces of furniture, it’s pretty easy to add a splash of something new to change the whole look of a room. A neutral throw rug over the side of the couch in autumn, or a bright rug welcoming you into your home can change the whole look and feel of your home.

If you’re planning on making some changes for autumn 2025, the current trends include:

  • Rich, earthy textures & natural materials – think “earthy luxe” like scalloped marble, live edged warm wood, natural stone, plush boucle, velvet and linen.
  • Curves and organic silhouettes – soft rounded forms, like round mirrors, curved candlesticks, oval lamps – anything that is smooth, soft and fluid.
  • Warm neutrals and earthy tones – from terracotta to creamy taupe and muted browns, khakis and moss greens – they add warm, cosy elegance to your home.
  • Home bars & entertaining areas – embrace the home entertaining trend with a dedicated space for hosting.
  • Spa like bathrooms – why do you need to go to the spa when you can have luxury at home? Natural materials, soft lighting, luxe bath products and candles all bring the retreat to you.

Will you be incorporating any of these trends into your home for autumn? Or do you create your own style? Or are you too busy doing other things to continually recreate your home?
